Kimaya B. Kight is a Mississippi native, born and raised in Bassfield, Mississippi.
Kimaya graduated from The University of Mississippi achieving a Bachelor’s Degree of Science with an emphasis in Criminal Justice. Kimaya went on to study law at Mississippi College School of Law. During her law school tenure, Kimaya externed with the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project, DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office, Henry County District Attorney’s Office and The Barnes Law Office. She was also engaged in several organizations, Women’s Student Bar Association; American Bar Association; Phi Alpha Delta and Black Law Student Association. Furthermore, Kimaya successfully completed Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys’ (GABWA) Professional Development Academy.
Since receiving her Doctorate of Jurisprudence, Kimaya has worked with The Barnes Law Office handling Criminal and Personal Injury cases. Kimaya enjoys assisting clients navigation through troubling situations and providing guidance and tranquility that lead to amicable resolutions.
In Kimaya’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Joel Kight, and fur babies, Bella and Dozier. She also enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, shopping and interior decorating.
